Köyceğiz is a town of about 10,000 inhabitants. The main shopping street runs directly up (north) from the lake dividing the town roughly in half. On the quay side there are many bars and restaurants where you can sit by the lake. On Mondays there is a popular market for food and clothing. |

| Getting Around |
It is easy to get around the area. There are scheduled buses to all the major towns (e.g. Marmaris, Bodrum, Pamukkale, Muğla, and Fethiye) and frequent "dolmuş" (mini-buses) to nearby towns and villages such as Ekincik Bay. Dolmuş boats also operate across the lake to the Sultanye springs, Dalyan town, the Caunos ruins and the Iztuzu "Turtle" beach. |
